DRESS CODE


ACROBATICS: The dress code requires any color leotard or biketard. Fitted dance shorts are optional, but footless tights are required. Class is performed barefoot.

Note: Hair must be secured in a ponytail or low bun.

BALLET AND POINTE: The dress code requires a black camisole leotard with pink tights and pink ballet and/or pointe shoes.

Note:
Hair must be secured in a low bun.

BALLET/TUMBLING: The dress code requires a CBSD black or pink leotard without a skirt, along with light toast footless or convertible tights.

Note: Hair must be secured in a low ponytail or low bun. White leather ballet shoes.

CONTEMPORARY: The dress code requires a black leotard, fitted camisole, or solid crop top, worn with fitted shorts and either footless tights or leggings. Dancers may be barefoot or wear foot undeez or Capezio turners.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT: The dress code requires a black CBSD leotard d with white tights and white ballet shoes.

Note: Hair must be secured in a ponytail or low bun. Boys are required to wear a fitted T-shirt, black pants, and black ballet shoes.


HIP HOP: The dress code requires a solid black t-shirt or the official CBSD hip hop t-shirt with black sweatpants or shorts. Loose-fitting clothing is permitted, but jeans and street shoes are not allowed. Black Hip-Hop shoes.

JAZZ: The dress code requires a black leotard or sports bra with capris, leggings, or fitted dance shorts. Light Toast tights must be worn. Students ages 7–10 must wear tan jazz shoes, while students ages 11+ must wear black jazz shoes.

LATIN DANCE: The dress code requires a black leotard, fitted camisole, or CBSD Latin t-shirt with black leggings, fitted dance shorts, or a skirt. Light Toast tights are essential if leggings are not worn. Black character shoes are mandatory. Male students must wear a solid black t-shirt with black pants and black Cuban heel shoes.

LATIN PERFORMANCE TEAMS: The dress code requires a black leotard, fitted camisole, or CBSD Latin t-shirt with black leggings, fitted dance shorts, or a skirt. Tights are required if leggings are not worn.

Note: Performance Team members will need rhinestone nude heels.


MEXICAN FOLKLORIC: The dress code requires a black leotard or camisole with black leggings. A practice skirt is mandatory and must be purchased through CBSD. Black character shoes are required;

PRIMARY BALLET: The dress code requires a pink camisole or capped sleeve leotard with pink tights and pink ballet shoes.

Hair must be secured in a low bun.

TAP / BALLET COMBO: The dress code requires a black or pink leotard; a skirt is optional. White tights are required, along with white ballet shoes and white tap shoes.

TAP: The dress code requires a black, tight-fitted shirt, crop top, or black leotard paired with capris, leggings, or fitted dance shorts.

Note: Hair must be secured in a bun or ponytail. Male students are required to wear a solid black t-shirt with black pants and black tap shoes. Ankles must remain visible at all times.

ALL DANCE ATTIRE AND ACCESSORIES MUST BE PURCHASED AT THE STUDIO

**When students follow the proper dress code, it ensures the instructors to be able to see the dancers alignment

and positioning. A dress code enhances their confidence and teaches them discipline. By not following


the proper dress code and correct hairstyle it becomes a huge distraction**

  • Appropriate footwear and clothing are required for dance class. The dance studio offers a wide variety of clothing, shoes, tights, bags, and much more at affordable prices.
  • When students adhere to the proper dress code, the instructor can observe each dancer's alignment and posture. Loose clothing can lead to bad habits and make corrections impossible. A dress code also teaches discipline and helps students focus and have more energy. By following the dress code, students feel like real dancers attending a dance class.
  • In all classes, hair must be tied back in a bun or ponytail. For ballet, it must be tied back in a bun. Jewelry is not permitted in any class; small earrings are acceptable.

STUDY POLICIES


Dress code

Students must adhere to the CBSD dress code for all dance classes. All students must wear their hair in a bun or ponytail; please respect the class dress code. If a student is not wearing the appropriate attire and hairstyle, the teacher will decide whether to remove them from the class, and their parents will be notified. We sell all necessary dance clothing, shoes, and tights at the studio.


Absences

If a student must miss class, a parent must notify CBSD at least 24 hours in advance.

If a student misses three consecutive classes without properly notifying the studio, they will not be allowed to attend class without the instructor's permission. Repeated absences may result in expulsion from the annual dance recital. No refunds will be issued for costumes or registration fees if a student drops a class during the dance season.


Delay

CBSD students are expected to arrive at the studio with ample time to prepare for class. If a student is late, a parent or guardian must notify CBSD. If a student is 15 minutes late or

Makeup classes

If students miss class, they must take a makeup class of the same dance style within

30 days. Students are entitled to a maximum of 5 make-up classes per year; please note that no make-up classes will be granted after February 28, 2025. No refunds or discounts on tuition fees will be given for missed classes. To make up a class, students must go to reception to obtain a slip of paper, which they must present to the teacher at the start of the class.

Christine Belpedio's dance studio assumes no responsibility or blame for any reason.

Assistance

If a student is absent from class, a parent or guardian MUST notify the office. It is critical that dancers attend all classes on time! Please strive for perfect attendance. Students with perfect attendance from October 1st to June 7th will receive an award at the 2025 CBSD Dance Recital. Arriving 15 minutes late or leaving 15 minutes early will be considered an absence. To receive the perfect attendance award, students must attend all dance classes for which they are enrolled (make-up classes do not count).

Remember: Excessive absences may result in expulsion from the annual dance recital.


Study Rules

Only enrolled students are allowed in the changing rooms and dance floors. Parents, please do not interact with or distract students during classes. Chewing gum is not permitted in the studio. Eating and drinking are not allowed on the dance floors; only water is permitted. Eating is not allowed in the changing rooms. Swearing is not tolerated in or around CBSD. Mobile phones are not allowed in the classroom. All personal belongings must be stored in lockers. CBSD is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Please show respect to all classmates and instructors. Students who disrupt the class may be asked to leave. Students may wait and warm up quietly in the hallway until their class begins. For their safety, children must be supervised at all times in the lobby. The lobby can be crowded, so please be patient and respectful of others. Please note that only enrolled students are allowed in the dance studio and changing rooms.


Refunds

If any student violates all studio rules and the CBSD code of conduct, tuition fees will not be refunded. Tuition and wardrobe fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
